Free Sugam Darshan & Aarti Passes

Every darshan and pass at Ram Mandir is free. Anyone asking you to pay for “VIP darshan” is not from the temple.

General darshan needs no pass. Just reach the entry, deposit your phone and bag, and join the queue.

Sugam Darshan is a free e-pass for a timed, smoother entry. Book it only on the trust’s official portal, online.srjbtkshetra.org.

What changed in October 2026

  • Daily online Sugam passes went up from 975 to 2,000.
  • The advance booking window is being extended from 15 to 90 days, with passes released in stages: 90, 62, 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 day before.
  • Same-day Tatkal passes are also planned.

Aarti passes

Mangala, Shringar and Shayan Aarti need a separate free pass from the same portal. Numbers are very limited, so book as early as you can. A Sugam pass does not include aarti entry.

How to book

  1. Open online.srjbtkshetra.org and log in with your mobile number.
  2. Choose Sugam Darshan or the aarti you want, then the date and slot.
  3. Add each person’s details and ID.
  4. Save the e-pass and carry the same ID you entered.

Entry Rules: What You Can't Carry Inside

Security is strict, and most first-timers lose time at the cloakroom. Here’s how to get through quickly.

Leave these outside

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, earphones and cameras
  • Bags, purses and backpacks
  • Food, drinks and anything sharp

Cloakroom and footwear

There is a free cloakroom near the entry for phones and bags, and a separate stand for footwear. Queues here get long by mid-morning, so arrive early.

Quick tips

  • Leave valuables at the hotel and carry only ID and a little cash in a pocket.
  • Pick a meeting point outside before you go in, since nobody will have a phone inside.
  • Photography is not allowed inside the temple.

How Long Is the Darshan Queue?

It depends almost entirely on the day and time you go.

When you goExpect (queue to exit)
Weekday, 7–9 AMAbout 1.5–2 hours
Weekday afternoonAbout 2–3 hours
WeekendsAbout 3–5 hours
Festivals (Deepotsav, Ram Navami, New Year)5 hours or more

Add time for the cloakroom and security. Carry water and eat something before you join, and avoid the evening of big festival days. See our festival calendar for the busiest dates.

What to See Inside Ram Mandir

Most people rush out after Ram Lalla’s darshan. Slow down. There’s more to see.

  • Ram Lalla in the sanctum: the five-year-old form of Ram in black stone, on the ground floor. The line keeps moving, so be ready with your prayer.
  • Ram Darbar on the first floor: Ram with Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan and Hanuman. Take the stairs after Ram Lalla’s darshan; no extra pass is needed.
  • The carvings: the temple is built in the Nagara style, with carved pillars and ceilings showing deities and Ramayana scenes. Look up as you walk.

After darshan, walk to Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan, both close by.

Ram Mandir Dress Code

Clean, modest and comfortable. You may be standing for hours.

  • Traditional or modest clothes work best: kurta-pajama, salwar suit, saree, or full trousers and a shirt.
  • Avoid shorts, sleeveless tops and very short or tight clothing.
  • Wear footwear that’s easy to take off and on, since it stays at the stand.
  • Winter mornings (Dec–Jan) are cold and foggy. Carry a shawl or light jacket.

Darshan for Senior Citizens & Wheelchair Users

This trip may be your parents’ lifelong wish. A little planning keeps it comfortable.

  • Wheelchairs and e-carts: the temple provides wheelchairs and battery carts for elderly and differently-abled devotees. Ask at the help desk near the entry.
  • Book a Sugam pass: a timed slot means less standing. Book early on the official portal.
  • Carry Aadhaar for each elder: ID is checked at entry and for any senior-citizen facility.
  • Go on a weekday morning: shorter queues and cooler air.
  • Plan rest: keep the afternoon free and do the Saryu aarti in the evening.
