Hotels Near Ram Mandir
Want to be early in the darshan line? Stay close, and your morning starts with a short ride.
- Where to look: along Ram Path, around Ramkot and near Naya Ghat. From here, Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi and the ghats are a short auto ride or walk.
- Check before booking: distance to the temple entry (not just “near Ram Mandir”), lift access if travelling with parents, hot water in winter, and parking if you’re driving.
- Vehicle rules: cars are often stopped short of the temple zone on busy days. Ask the hotel how guests reach the entry.
- Festivals: book weeks ahead for Deepotsav, Ram Navami and New Year.
Dharamshalas in Ayodhya
Simple, low-cost rooms run by temples, trusts and communities. Great for families and groups.
- What to expect: basic rooms, sometimes shared bathrooms, early gate-closing times, and strict vegetarian rules.
- Booking: some take online bookings, many work on calls or walk-ins. Call a day ahead to confirm.
- Carry ID: every guest will be asked for an Aadhaar or other photo ID.
- Good for: satsang groups and families who want to stay close to temples on a tight budget.
Trust Guest Houses
Clean rooms run by religious trusts and ashrams, often close to the temples you’ve come to see.
- A step up from dharamshalas: private bathrooms and more regular upkeep, at a modest price.
- Expect a calm, devotional atmosphere, simple satvik food, and fixed check-in and gate timings.
- Popular ones fill early around festivals, so book or call well ahead.
Budget Hotels
Just need a clean bed, a hot bath and a quiet night? These are for you.
- The Faizabad side of the city and the roads leading to the temple zone have the widest choice at lower prices.
- Read recent reviews for cleanliness and hot water, and look at real guest photos.
- Confirm the exact distance to Ram Mandir and the ghats, and how you’ll get there (e-rickshaws and autos are easy to find).
- Prices jump sharply around festivals. Weekdays are cheaper than weekends.
Tent City Stays
Air-conditioned tents with attached bathrooms, close to the Saryu and the temples.
- Tent-city properties sit by the Saryu near Ram Katha Park and around Brahma Kund, a few kilometres from Ram Mandir.
- Most offer AC tents with attached bathrooms, a vegetarian restaurant and evening programmes.
- They’re a good pick during festivals, when walking to the ghats beats driving through closed roads.
- Ask whether heaters are provided in December–January nights.
IRCTC Retiring Rooms at the Station
Early train or late arrival? Sleep at the station and skip the late-night hotel hunt.
- Retiring rooms and dormitories at the station are booked on the IRCTC website or app.
- You’ll usually need a confirmed train ticket (PNR) to or from that station.
- Rooms are limited, so book as soon as your train ticket is confirmed.
- See how to reach Ayodhya by train for station details.
